The Blurb:
You may be familiar with the traditional story of The Nutcracker, but I doubt you’ve heard how the Nutcracker Prince got trapped in his wooden form. Read the legend of “The Hard Nut” and experience this story like you haven’t before.

The Nitty-Gritty:
I love Christmas, and I love the Nutcracker. Some of my favourite picture books as a kid were out Christmas stories, and some of my favourite Christmas specials were Nutcracker adaptations (The Nutty Nutcracker anyone?). This was a cute take on a classic story. The illustrations were beautiful, and I liked the idea of giving the Nutcracker Prince a backstory.

I wish that the flow of the story was more smooth (we jump around between 1908 and legends from years gone by and dream sequences quite quickly), but all in all this was a lovely Christmas storybook.

The Verdict:

Delightful Secrets of the Nutcracker is true to its title, and will get you in the holiday spirit.
