Books That Scream Summer

This week's Top Ten Tuesday is a summer freebie. This past long weekend was gorgeous, and it definitely felt like summer had officially started. Which made today's return to regular life so cruel. I've decided to continue living in denial, however, and share a few books that bring me back (at least mentally) to the …

The Magicians by Lev Grossman

If you couldn't already tell from the 1 star rating, I absolutely hated this book. In fact, I seriously considered not even writing a review. I couldn't even finish this book. If you check my Goodreads, it's on my DNF (did not finish) shelf. Normally, if I don't finish a book I don't give it a rating, because I don't feel comfortable rating a book that I didn't even read all the way through. This book is an exception, however, because it was so awful that I felt the need to contribute what little I could to bringing down its average rating on Goodreads. That being said, if you loved this series, and will just get angry reading a lot of hate directed towards this book, maybe just click away. Why then, did I decide to write a review? Because I felt like I was not adequately warned about this piece of trash.

However, if you did enjoy The Great Gatsby, and you are looking for other books that …

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

I know that everyone was so worried that I had stopped making those videos where I recap my feelings upon re-reading the Harry Potter series. Fear not! I have continued - with The Order of the Phoenix.
